Play For All It’s Worth
I love to play guitar. Whenever I have a spare second, I pick up an axe and start picking. I play when I’m watching TV, catching up on the day with my wife, even sometimes when I’m on the phone with my family.
I never work the guitar; I play it. I try new things, see how they go, often building off what I know to see — and hear — things I never noticed before. Playing opens a part of my heart and accesses a part of my head that frees me.
Playing is indispensable in my professional life as well. My best work comes once I start playing. Once again, I try new things, see how they go and build off what I know to see — and sometimes hear — things I never noticed before. And that leads to the serious stuff of finding branding messages that connect.
So next time you’re stuck at work, consider maybe that’s the problem. It’s WORK.
Try playing and see what happens.
